October Self-Care Challenge

Can you believe we are only a few days away from October 2022? Time passes; it seems like we only recently rang in the new year three months ago. October will arrive in a few days, and since then, we have been focusing on taking care of ourselves throughout our blog. We are introducing our "October Self-Care Challenge" for you this month.

Most of the activities we have in store for you; we have already tested out on this site or even on ourselves without recognizing it.

Day 1* Create a list of goals to achieve during the month. Maintaining organization will help with target levels and deadlines.

Day 2* October 2: Enjoy a meditation video from our blog (second video) https://timetoreconnect22.blogspot.com/2022/09/a-simple-guided-meditation.html. Meditation is a terrific method to start the morning or take a break to keep a healthy balance in your well-being throughout the day. Visit our blog post from last week, listen to it, and put the advice from the video into practice.

Day 3* Go out and purchase anything you want; do not set limits. Remember, you deserve this treat.

Day 4* You'll feel good writing from the heart and making a tiny gesture to a special someone, and you'll also brighten their day.

Day 5* We advise disconnecting for the day and avoiding using our phone, computer, iPad, or anything else with an internet connection. Consider it a day of social media detox.

Day6* My favorite pampering activities include applying face masks, painting our nails, taking baths, and even working on our toes.

Day 7* You may wait for the sunset to come over Buffalo Bayou Park in Houston, or you can watch it from your patio or balcony.

Day 8* Your life will be easier if you clean and organize. Start with three piles, as recommended. First, we have the items you want to keep, donate, or sell.

Day 9* Write down three things you are grateful for. People who count their blessings have better sleep, less stress, and improved interpersonal interactions.

Day 10* Listen to a podcast that will help you learn something new or help you grow as a person. Podcasts can be uplifting and fun to listen to on their own.

Day 11* Finding a new interest is enjoyable. A hobby can be anything, including taking up a new language, playing an instrument, collecting antiques, and a wide range of other activities.

Day 12* After lunch or even in the middle of the day, take a nap. A nap will restore your energy and help to reduce stress levels.

Day 13* Make an appointment at a hair salon and treat yourself to a new hairstyle, or perhaps a total change of style and color, or take the time to style your hair at home.

Day 14* Play video games online with your buddies or at home with a friend.

Day 15* Have a picnic nearby, in your backyard, or at a public park. Observe nature while having a picnic.

Day 16* Make an appointment for a massage at a nearby spa. Enjoy a massage once a month or whenever you feel the urge.

Day 17* Pilates Workout: Kickbacks x15 each side, Fire hydrants x15 each side, Extensions x15 each side, Rainbows x15 each side, Single leg stretch x30, Criss-cross x30, Leg Lowering x15, Bridge Lowering x15 each side, Pulses x15 each side, Leg pull x10 each side, Lat pulls x15, Swimming 30 seconds, Knee wide pull-ups x20, Squats to calf raise x20, Pulses x15. Day 21* Pumpkin patch locations: Old Time Christmas Tree Farm in Spring, Dewberry Farm in Brookshire, Blessington Farms in Willis, Old MacDonald’s Farm in Humble, and P-6 Farms in Montgomery

Day 22* Enjoy this Saturday by sleeping in. There are advantages, like reducing stress and improving your mood.

Day 23* Some positive affirmations to tell yourself; “I believe in myself,” “I love myself for who I am,” and “I am smart. I am kind. I am important.”

Day 24* Check out one of our blog posts to give some idea on pampering yourself before getting in the bath https://timetoreconnect22.blogspot.com/2022/09/lets-reconnect-in-bath.html

Day 25* Create a homemade meal for yourself. Maybe a meal from your childhood you haven't had in a while or make your all-time favorite meal.

Day 26* Take some time in the morning or evening for a 15-minute walk outside. Enjoy the fresh fall air!

Day 27* Enjoy our meditation video again, or enjoy another video for a 15-minute meditation.

Day 28* Halloween Movies to pick from: Hocus Pocus, Halloween Town, The Conjuring 1&2, Insidious, IT, Friday the 13th, Thir13teen Ghosts, or Nightmare on Elm Street

Day 29* Take some time out of your day to do a random act of kindness for someone. It’ll make their day and your day too.

Day 30* Everyone deserves flowers, go out and buy some, or even pick some!

Day 31* HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Dress up and have fun!
